eCoMove vision is that there is a least fuel consumption achievable through tackling the three main causes of energy waste in road transport: uninformed trip planning & route choice, inappropriate driving performance and inefficient traffic management. The innovation resides in the cooperative information exchange between vehicles and roadside, which improves the preview of the traffic situation ahead to determine the most energy-efficient route, driving behaviour or traffic control & balancing strategy. The combination of such cooperative technologies and services has the potential to deliver a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
